King Pins of LA is a gripping documentary series that takes viewers into the heart of the 1980s Los Angeles underworld. This four-part series follows the rise and fall of the West Coast Mafia, a group of childhood friends who built a billion-dollar drug empire—only to become the ultimate targets of the LAPD’s most aggressive crackdown in history.

'FREEWAY' RICK ROSS

The main narrative arc of the series will follow the rise and fall of Freeway Rick Ross who got his name growing up on LA Interstate 110. Having excelled as a tennis prodigy as a child he failed to get a college scholarship emerged he when it couldn't read or write. But that didn't hold him back and he went on to become one of the most successful drug dealers in US history.

JOHN BOY

An aspiring breakdancer who excels as a dealer before deciding to go clean and follow his dream of setting up a nightclub in LA. But when there's murder at his club and he needs to raise funds fast to save it, he agrees to doing one last deal - but it's a sting and he ends up in jail.

LIL TOMMY

Also known as Thomas Whitmore, Lil Tommy becomes one of the biggest cocaine dealers i himselt. second only to friend of Rick's, the two they were working in a chop shop after Rick dropped out school. Tommy later brought down by a complex operation the DEA and LAPD, lead by David Marzullo.

IKILIA

Known for liking the finer things in life, Ikilia was a social butterfly and often acted as broker between the kingpins. She's an energetic character and stands out for being the group. She knew everyone in the scene and is able to speak to the characters and the era.

WHITEY

The second youngest of eleven children, Whitey grew up in poverty. He started dealing from the age of 13 and built up a huge enterprise selling cocaine while not even an adult. Не was established before Rick and Tommy introduced and Ikilia and John Boy to the game. Whitey was eventually brought down by RICO laws after confrontation with one of his rivals ends in murder.

The Story

Told from both sides of the law, King Pins of LA unravels the cat-and-mouse hunt that almost brought the LAPD down. At the center of it all was ‘Freeway’ Rick Ross, one of the most successful drug dealers in U.S. history, whose empire once earned up to $1 million a day.

Lil Tommy – A top cocaine dealer in LA, second only to Rick.

Whitey – A ruthless street businessman who built his own empire.

Ikilia – The only woman in the crew, known for brokering major deals.

John Boy – A breakdancer turned drug dealer who tried to go legit.
